From 1999 to 2014 "Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty - SHAC - [...] waged an international direct action campaign against Huntingdon Life Sciences, Europe’s largest contract animal testing corporation. By targeting investors and business partners of HLS, SHAC repeatedly brought HLS to the brink of collapse, and it took direct assistance from the British government and an international counter-campaign of severe legal repression to keep the corporation afloat."
Beasts of Burden was first published in October 1999. The aim of the anonymous pamphlet was to initiate a debate between animal liberationists and revolutionaries – anarchists and communists.
The Animal Liberation Front Supporters Group (ALF SG) exists to support imprisoned animal rights activists. (alfsg.org.uk)
